Tweets Treats is a small business founded by two longtime aviculturists with decades of combined experience in parrot husbandry and nutrition. Through years of feeding parrots across a wide range of species and sizes, the founders identified consistent challenges associated with fresh produce, including extensive preparation time, rapid spoilage, inconsistent intake, and nutritional waste.
To address these issues, Danielle and Marleen conducted extended in-aviary feeding trials using freeze-dried fruits and vegetables. Over a period exceeding one year, consumption patterns, food preferences, and waste reduction were systematically observed and evaluated. These trials informed the development of Tweets Treats blends, which are formulated to support optimal palatability, nutrient retention, and consistent consumption in parrots.
